Record 1 2017-05-04

English

Subject field(s)
  • Optics
DEF

Chromatic aberration, manifested as a change in size of the image of a point formed by a lens or an optical system, due to differences of incident wavelengths.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Optique
DEF

Subject field(s)
  • Mathematical Geography
CONT

Lateral chromatic aberration occurs because the magnification of the image differs with wavelength. In a television camera it causes registration error. Lateral chromatic aberration also has a secondary chromatic aberration, making it difficult to correct all three, red, blue and green, wavelengths at the same time.
